Devendra Verma Awarded the Graduate Student Excellence Award

Congratulations to PhD student Devendra Verma who has been awarded the Graduate Student Excellence Award. This award is presented by Purdue Graduate Student Government (PGSG) to one PhD and one master’s student across all departments from Purdue for outstanding scholarship and professionalism. The selection criteria include discovery achievement, learning achievement, Engagement at the Purdue and Community and Organizational involvement.

Devendra received his undergraduate in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK) in Spring 2011 and he completed his master’s in Fall 2012 from Purdue University.

He is continuing as a PhD student with Dr. Vikas Tomar in Interfacial Multiphysics Lab. Dev is working on understanding the surface and interface m

echanics of bio and bio-mimetic materials with Raman spectroscopy combined with mechanical and thermal loading.

Devendra is a member of the Aero Assist committee and represents AAE as senator in the PGSG. He also volunteers with the ISS Boiler Out program.
